Welcome to my website.

My name is Penni Wood, I graduated from UT Austin in 1996 with a degree in Communications—Sciences and Disorders—Deaf Studies. I have been working with chilren for over twenty years and in that time I have worked with children with differences such as: ADD, ADHD, Bi-polar, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Sensory Defensiveness and Autism. I worked briefly as an assistant guide in a Montessori preschool. My style is to encourage my kids to do as much as they can for themselves and when they need help, I am there to help them. My main rule is we never say "I can't." I promote self-talk that is positive with an attitude of "I can do it." It is such a joy for both the student and the teacher when the student is able to do the task all by themselves.
